Each Season

On the slow loops of growth — and the breath that lets the next one begin.

Growth isn’t linear. It’s circular. We come back to the same lessons in slightly different keys, and each time we’re a little more able to hear them.

Each season has its lessons
Of blessings and heartaches
Awakening the soul to learn from mistakes
We often doom ourselves in to partake

Again and again, in circles we flow
Growth comes when we simply let go
Yet we grasp on to wounds like a comfy sweater
Until we realize there has always been better

All you have to do is believe
It’s so simple but difficult to achieve
Love from within — the knitting we must weave
It begins when we allow ourselves to breathe

The wounds we keep wearing aren’t comfort. They’re identity. The work of letting them go feels like being undressed. It’s worth it.
